Al-Afasy: The contributions of the Awqaf Foundation strengthen Kuwait's position

KUNA - Minister of Justice and the Minister of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs of Kuwait, the Counsellor/ Dr. Fahd Al-Afasy, said that the contributions of Kuwait Awqaf Public Foundation (KAPF) in helping the poor around the world strengthen Kuwait's position as a global humanitarian center.

 

This is mentioned in a speech by Al-Afasy on behalf of His Highness the Crown Prince Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, may Allah protect him, during the opening of the 25thannual Waqf forum of Kuwait Awqaf Public Foundation (KAPF) under the slogan (A Quarter of a Century in the Service of Waqfs), which is held under the patronage of His Highness the Crown Prince.

He added that these contributions are made through the Foundation funds, projects and Waqf expenses that are concerned with contributing in the fields of community development, pointing to the efforts of the Foundation in providing relief to the victims of natural disasters and wars in various countries of the world, in coordination with the official and civil Kuwaiti authorities.

 

Al-Afasy said that the celebration of the Kuwait Awqaf Public Foundation (KAPF) for the 25thanniversary of its founding comes in recognition of years that were busy in the field of Waqf service and sponsorship and achieving its goals that Kuwait is proud of as an official body, adding that it has made huge achievements in many fields internally and externally, especially related to community service and easing the burden on its children. This represents a quality of Waqf work in Kuwait and a pioneering governmental step for the advancement and progress of it in its various fields.

 

He stated that the forum reviews broad aspects of the Foundation's giving throughout its history and important milestones from its local, regional and global development projects, which calls for presenting the Foundation as a model for successful and distinguished governmental institutions in its field, which is Waqf, and enhances the confidence of citizens, especially male and female Endowers in Kuwait Awqaf Public Foundation (KAPF).

 

Al-Afasy expressed his sincere thanks to the organizers of this forum who spared no effort in harnessing all capabilities and overcoming difficulties in order to hold it and show it in a bright and honorable way.

 

For his part, the Secretary General of Kuwait Awqaf Public Foundation (KAPF), Muhammad Al-Jalahma, confirmed in a similar speech that the 25th Waqf forum coincides with the passage of twenty-five years since the establishment of Kuwait Awqaf Public Foundation (KAPF), which was established by an Emiri decree during the reign of His Highness the late Sheikh Jaber Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah and made clear imprints for it during its short period compared to any another Waqf institution in the Islamic world.

 

Al-Jalahma said that the forum seeks to shed light on the experience of Kuwait Awqaf Public Foundation (KAPF) and its distinctive role in serving the endowment, in addition to reviewing the civilizational glow of Waqf in many brotherly and friendly countries such as the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, the State of Qatar, the Kingdom of Bahrain, the Republic of Turkey and others, as well as its review of charitable and voluntary models for some global Waqf projects in Europe, Asia and Africa.

 

He expressed his thanks to His Highness the Amir, Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah, may Allah protect him, and His Highness the Crown Prince for his generous patronage of this forum and his interest and continuous support for the activities and projects of Kuwait Awqaf Public Foundation (KAPF). He also thanked Minister of Justice and the Minister of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs, the representative of the sponsor of the forum.

 

For his part, the Grand Mufti and Head of the Islamic Sheikhdom in the Republic of Croatia, Aziz Hasanovic, said, "The Waqf Forum during these two days will be a welcome field from which to draw useful experiences and inspiring models and present ideas, proposals and charitable and humanitarian experiences that will develop the level of workers in the fields of charitable and humanitarian work.

It is noteworthy that Kuwait Awqaf Public Foundation (KAPF) launched the new website with a modern and modern design that keeps pace with technological development and linked it to social networking sites with the aim of enhancing communication with the public and providing its services and projects such as residential care and caring for students of knowledge and the offspring of the Endower and others, in addition to providing donation and electronic Waqf services.

 

Minister of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs honored the success partners, including the Zakat House, the Islamic Development Bank, the Kuwait Finance House, Zain Telecommunications Company, the Red Crescent Society, the Islamic Charitable Organization and the Direct Aid Society, and the Foundation presented a memorial shield to the representative of the sponsor of the forum.​
