Praise be to Allah the Almighty who sent Mohamed (PBUH), the best Messenger, with the Qur'an and made him a guideline and a mercy for all mankind. Allah blessed the State of Kuwait with interest in Islamic Waqf, revival of its noble Sunna and activation of its leading historical roles in developing societies. The Waqf Funds, founded by Awqf Public Foundation, were the best optimal option to revive Waqf Sunna, develop its course, and activate its developmental roles in serving society and responding to its needs according the legitimate principles of Waqf and the present and future exigencies. The Waqf Fund for the Holy Qur'an and its Sciences was one of the outstanding funds which were founded by Awqaf Public Foundation. It is a fund aiming at taking care of the Qur'an, encouraging its memorization and reading and supporting its scientific studies. Because of the Fund becomes closely related to the great support of the Holy Qur'an, its responsibility increases extensively. The Holy Qur'an is a big responsibility that is why much effort and energy should be multiplied for its sake. As a matter fact, it is the responsibility of the whole Islamic Nation (Ummah) in which the glory and dignity is strikingly embodied. Allah the Almighty said in this connection: And verily, this (the Qur’an) is indeed a reminder for you O (Mohammad) and your people (Quraish people, or your followers), and you will be questioned (about it). Az-Zukhruf (43:44) All Muslims world-wide are responsible for its protection. In this booklet, we will introduce a very important aspect reflecting the achievements of the Waqf Fund for the Holy Qur'an and its sciences. We will deal with the most prominent projects which were carried out with Allah's blessing within the past few years. While introducing such achievements, we are emphasizing the fact that they are but preliminary initiatives. In fact, there is a lot to be done in the future to uphold the Holy Qur'an and those memorizing it, and to encourage research into its sciences and principles. May Allah guide us all
